The Gaucho men and women had better morning swims than yesterday morning. Many did better preparing for the prelims while some are still struggling to get up and go in the morning. We had a few 9th seedings going into the finals tonight, and we need to do a better job squeezing into the top 8.

Let's go Gauchos!!!

vs. Cal State Bakersfield

The Gaucho men and women traveled to Bakersfield for a dual meet against Cal State Bakersfield for the first time since the 2003-2004 season. The Roadrunners moved to Division I this year, and they were ready to take the next step when the Gauchos arrived to the Hilman Aquatic Center on Saturday. The Gaucho women won every event except the 200 back while the Gaucho men lost the first three events. The men responded really well when changes were made in the line-up and swam some best events instead of off events that they were excited to swim that day.

We had many families coming to cheer for us at the meet. Thank you, Gaucho fans!!

vs Cal Poly and UC San Diego

As we don't have a block in lane 9 anymore, tri-meets seem to become long home meets for the Gauchos this season. We had a lot of energy and some life-time best times through the meet. Cal Poly won a few close races, and UCSD challenged our relays.
We definitely need to work on relay starts. Ouch! Gauchos=blue cap
